What you need
Displayable work still starts with materials you can find. Air-dry clay from a drugstore. A walk for stems you can name. A cereal box for a frame. A simple oak or thrifted frame if you want the botanical to look finished. Gold leaf is optional. A kiln is not in this house.

- A cardboard box and a metal ruler (you hold the ruler)
- Glue stick, white glue, or a small amount of craft glue
- Heavy paper or the back of a pad of drawing paper
- A book and blotting paper or coffee filters, if you are pressing
One short shop
- Air-dry clay for a pinch bowl that can live on a nightstand
- Matte varnish or a sealer, adult-applied, if the clay should survive dusting
- Cotton rag paper or a ready frame, if you are making a panel
Do not claim every object is free. The shopping list exists so the clay and the sealer land in one run, not three. Members can open a cart; anyone in the household can check things off at home.
Time, who is at the table, adult jobs
A pinch pot can fit a weeknight once the table is covered. Pressing flowers is mostly waiting — five to seven days between books — with a Saturday to compose the panel.
